Mac gaming has long been criticized for it's one-button mouse. Those days are no longer, according to Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple. "Having 5-6 buttons on a PC mouse is too confusing for today's modern gamer. The natural evolution of the mouse is to have LESS buttons, not more.", said Jobs during a recent interview.
"Think about it", said Jobs, "isn't it easier to just click one button than to figure out which of the 6 buttons you're supposed to press?". He then went on to say,"Note to developers, maybe you should design a game smart enough to know what action the gamer wants to do,and make gaming better for all of us".
Jobs then pulled out his sketchpad to show the audience a sample first person shooter control scheme he had mapped out, which uses the one mouse button to fire, secondary fire, reload, cycle weapons, and to jump.
"Don't blame US for the lack of control in games, blame the lazy developers!" Jobs shouted, rendering a massive cheer from the rabid audience.
No actual one-button FPS games are scheduled at this time. |
